14 Assam Rifles and Serchhip District MJA to collaborate
On November 4, 2025, the 14 Assam Rifles, stationed in Serchhip, hosted a meeting with the Serchhip District MJA members. During the meeting, they discussed ways to collaborate and work together.
Lt. Col. Sunil Kumar, Second-in-Command of 14 Assam Rifles, spoke about the unit's commitment to the people of Mizoram as "Friends of the Hill People." He highlighted their various initiatives, including providing assistance to orphanages, conducting free health check-ups in various towns, and supporting YMA and MHIP. He also mentioned their efforts in curbing drug abuse and expressed the unit's desire to work closely with journalists.
Pu Kapliana Pachuau, Vice President of Serchhip District MJA and Editor of Serchhip Times, appreciated the Assam Rifles for inviting MJA members. He acknowledged the unit's good working relationship with the district and praised their efforts in curbing drug abuse and supporting local organizations. He assured that journalists would be happy to collaborate with the Assam Rifles in their efforts to protect Mizoram from drugs and other social issues.
The meeting was well-attended by Serchhip District MJA members. It was decided that a WhatsApp group would be created to facilitate collaboration between the Assam Rifles and MJA members, through which the unit's activities and initiatives would be shared with the public
