*INSPECTION TEAM OF NATIONAL HIGHWAY 02 TO CONDUCT FIELD VISIT AGAIN UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF ADDL. DC *## The severely damaged portions of NH-02 in Serchhip District have been repaired / filled.* *## Repair work of Serchhip By-Pass Road will begin from today (22nd Aug. 2026)*

 Yesterday, 21st Aug. 2026, Thursday, as arranged by Serchhip DC, the National Highway 02 Inspection Team inspected the ongoing repair works on the road between Keitum and Khumtung, and they said that although the present condition is not yet fully satisfactory, they find it fairly good. However, since it is the rainy season, the road can get badly damaged again within a day or two, therefore they have instructed the Contractors to carry out Daily Maintenance continuously.


The leader of the National Highway Inspection Team, Addl. DC Pi Dorothy Muansangi, informed the top officials of NHIDCL and their Contractors (KRAM Infracon Pvt. Ltd., Shivalaya Construction Ltd. and Bhartia Infra Projects Ltd.) that from the District Administration level they will continuously monitor to ensure that Serchhip District gets good and durable highways, and she informed them that the National Highway Inspection will be carried out jointly with Joint VC, Sub-Hqrs. YMA and MJA and asked them not to be complacent.


Addl. DC Pi Dorothy Muansangi said that as it is raining at present, proper Blacktopping of the road cannot be done at the moment and that only the severely damaged portions that are difficult for vehicles to ply are being filled up for now, and as soon as the monsoon rain subsides, from the second half of September, the Contractors under NHIDCL will be made to do proper Blacktopping of all the damaged portions of National Highway 02 within Serchhip District, and at that time she requested the public to also help monitor whether good materials are being used or not and to inform the District authorities if poor quality work is observed, and for that she said she wants the public to make use of the Vantlang Viltu App.

From today, 22nd Aug. 2026, Saturday, repair work of the damaged NH 02 Serchhip By-Pass Road - from Kikawn to Sailiamkawn - will also be started, and the machinery to be used for this was already stationed yesterday, 21st Aug., and the Contractor Kram Infracon Pvt. Ltd. intends to complete filling up the worst damaged portions within 7 days.The road inspection was attended by Addl. DC Pi Dorothy Muansangi, SDC Pu Chawngthu Lalrinhlua, from Joint VC their Vice Chairman Pu PC Vanlalvena and from Sub-Hqrs. YMA their President Pu PC Vanlalluna, and from MJA led by their President Pu Kapliana Pachuau along with several members.

Kram Infracon Pvt. Ltd. General Manager Ayush Tiwari and their Public Relation Officer (PRO) Pu Lalhruaitluanga were also present.The National Highway Inspection Team were received and accompanied during the road inspection by NHIDCL Project Manager Sashikant Maui, Resident Engineer Ram Niranjan Parsad, and Field Engineer Jiten Raut, Kram Infracon Pvt. Ltd. General Manager Ayush Tiwari and their Public Relation Officer Pu Lalhruaitluanga, and Shivalaya Construction Ltd.
